Subcontracted manual search at USPTO for  mechanical inventions. Most mechanical  cases at minimum fee. Electrical, computer  and chemical searches are higher.

Search of online databases (copy costs are charged separately).

New Utility patent application -- fixed price quote always available
*Most mechanical cases are $2,200 (see another page for what else is involved)
*Most electrical and computer cases are $2,500.
*Most international application filed in the US are $1,200.

Fees to the Patent and Trademark Office, translation and drawing costs not included.

Provisional application for utility patent 
Most cases are substantially above the minimum fee.

(If you have us prepare a utility application from a provisional we've prepared, we will credit you $300 towards the cost of the utility application!)

Documents and other disbursements charged at actual cost + 5% 
Search and translation fees are prepaid to a third search firm .
Application preparation has a 50% retainer fee at outset other fees are net 30 days.
Interest at 0.63%/MO (7.5%/yr.) charged after 60 days.
There may be a 20% surcharge to expidite a case, depending upon workload constraints.
